JaskAn incredible eclectic mix by Thaisoul’s Jask bringing his signature mix of soulful / funky / deep house. This one definitely has a warehouse at 4am vibe to it. Also Check out other mixes from Adam Auburn, Darwin Paul & Wobs

The tracks have their merits but it’s a little too
all over the place for me.

I’m just an innocent party-goer, but I feel I must offer a critique on this particular evening. I don’t know anything about sound systems. I do have a decent ear for sound. If I remember correctly, I thought the mixing was interesting and well executed, but the equalizer thingy seemed all jacked. I remember that the mixes got lost behind the bass being turned up too much. (Perhaps I am mistaken about it being the bass, because in the above track, it sounds like the treble is on the high side and is irritating me a bit on this mix). My friends (one in the music business) and I commented on this equalizer aspect while there (something I haven’t noticed the other odd dozen times I have been at Focus) . It made it distracting to get lost in the music. I decided not to fight it after a while and not dance, which makes me sad since the music BEHIND the sound quality sounded great. I wouldn’t waste my time typing this if I thought Jask was not extremely talented. I love Focus!!!

Hmmm That’s interesting that you say that. There are different spots of the club that will have more sub-bass than others. So if you like more come up front, for the perfect amount (what we feel) – hang towards the middle, and if you don’t want a lot – you can chill at the back.
