Jazzwell and Mark Faicol played an amazing set for us and set things up perfectly for Mark Farina. These two have some legitimate chemistry, diving into the deep, funky, and soulful side of house music. Their energy is relentless, chemistry is off the charts, and they have the most soulful set of tracks to choose from. If you ever have the chance of catching either of these two throw it down, make it a point to see them live. Be sure to check out the other mixes by Mark Farina, and [Studiophile].

Another birthday set, this time it was [Studiophile] celebrating. His track selection built a deep vibe for the Focus crowd as they began to crowd the dance floor in anticipation of Mark Farina. Be sure to check out the other mix by Mark Farina, as well as a tag team set by Jazzell & Mark Faicol.

This was our first official event of 2014 and it was a great start to the new year. Jason stepped up to the stage and delivered a set that earned him a lot of fans after everything was said and done. We’re super eager to see his return to Focus but in the mean time, don’t forget to check out the other mixes by Josh Billings, and Jamie Schwabl.
When Josh is penciled in for the second slot of the night, you better be ready to break a sweat because he’ll have you on the dance floor the entire time he’s mixing. He does a great job building on the vibe that Jamie started up, and set things up perfectly for our headliner. Be sure to check out the other mixes by Jason Burns and Jamie Schwabl.
This night was special for Jamie because she was celebrating her birthday with us To top it off she played a killer set, keeping it groovy and super deep. She’s definitely one of the “up-and-comers” we feel you should be on the lookout for, so download this mix and check out the other sets by Jason Burns and Josh Billings.
MANIK was officially the first DJ to play at Focus in 2014. He helped kick things off with our New Years countdown and once the confetti settled he got straight to making people dance. He’s got a very heavy style of mixing…meaning the whole venue was shaking from all the bass in his tracks. We want to give him a special thanks for bringing the house down, starting 2014 with some proper house music, and helping us to make this party the best New Years Experience in Southern California. Download this mix, and check out the other two from the Focus DJ’s(Josh Billings, Nonfiction, and Wobs), and Missy B.
This night was quite a celebration and all three of the Focus DJ’s went out with a bang into the New Year. The best mixes normally come to existence when our residents get the chance to collaborate together. The Focus crew didn’t disappoint and their energy had the crowd going wild the entire time. Get a taste of what New Years at Focus was like and download this bad mamma jamma, it’ll satisfy your hunger for the very best that Focus has to offer. Be sure to check out the other sets from the night by MANIK, and Missy B.
Missy B is one of our favorite DJ’s to play at Focus and you’ll see her name on a lot of flyers if you’re from the local Southern California area. She’s known for her exceptional track selection, seamless mixing, and we have yet to see a DJ match her energy when she’s behind the decks at Focus. This was arguably one of the biggest and best nights we had in 2013, don’t forget to check out the other mixes by MANIK and a tag team set from Josh Billings, Nonfiction, and Wobs.
This was one of those nights where everyone walked off the dance floor flat-out impressed by Nonfiction. If you’re not familiar with his work, listen to this mix and begin to educate yourself. His sets always have some sort of urban vibe to them, and he’s notorious for dropping some proper old school remixes. This night was no different and if you find yourself bobbing your head to this mix, feel free to crank up the volume and get down as if you were on the dance floor at Focus.
As a DJ, it’s very important to lead the crowd on a journey throughout a mix. This principle is what makes DJing a form of art and when it comes to applying this idea, Wobs knocks the ball out of the park. This is one of the mixes you take a late night cruise with…so throw it on a cd, hop in your car, roll your windows down, hit the road, and enjoy the ride Crank up the volume and don’t forget to check out the mix from earlier in the night by Eddie B.
